Hi-Lux Camputer

Camputer ART Principle

Now you can own the same advanced scope technology that made U.S. military snipers in South Vietnam feared by enemy soldiers from the North. Developed by Jim Leatherwood, his now famous ART (Automatic Ranging & Trajectory) scopes made it easier for the military to train qualified long-range snipers by practically eliminating the need to estimate range. Thanks to a simple to read "through the lens" ranging system and fully adjustable external Camputer Cam System, soldiers were able to precisely place shots at ranges far beyond the practical limits of open sights or conventional telescopic sights – without having to guess the range or calculate bullet drop. Over the years, Leatherwood / Hi-Lux Optics Camputer scope system has been steadily improved, and is still in the use by military and law enforcement snipers. Now Leatherwood / Hi-Lux Optics is inducing the new revolutionary ART scope that has the interchangeable Cam system like the M-1000.

Camputer M-1200 ART Scope

The Leatherwood ART scope is virtually legendary and is still after nearly 40 years the only scope that automatically computes the bullet trajectory as the target is ranged, so the shooter only has to aim “dead-on” the target. This new scope extends the range to the limit of the killing power of cartridges like the .338 using long range bullets. The M-1200 optical system gives 6x – 24x and allows ranging from 300 to 1200 meters. The system solves the problem of insufficient internal adjustment in conventional scopes for very long range shooting. The M-1200 has 1/8 minute click for both elevation and wind age. It has high covered tactical adjustment turrets.

Camputer M-1000 ART Scope

It's really not fair to call the all-new generation Leatherwood M-1000 a riflescope. More appropriately, it is an extremely advanced sighting system; the basics of which have now been in constant military use for more than 40 years. Using this system has never been easier, or more user friendly!

All the shooter has to do is to place the reticle on the target, zoom in to “FRAME” an area of known size (i.e. the 18" height of a buck's chest cavity), AIM, and squeeze the trigger to “SHOOT”. It all takes less than 5 seconds, and the shooter's eye never leaves the scope! When the shooter frames an 18” or 1 meter target using the brackets on the reticle, the scope will automatically range the target and compensate for bullet trajectory for distances of 250 to 1,000 meters. This means no “holdover” or guesswork.

The cam of this new generation 2.5-10x44mm ART (Auto Ranging Trajectory) system, which was invented and designed by Jim Leatherwood for military snipers in Vietnam during the 1960s, has been redesigned for today's sportsman. New, interchangeable modular cams make it simpler than ever to precisely calibrate this system for just about any center-fire rifle cartridge -from .223 to .50 BMG. The shooter can switch cams in a minute or less! Also, the new design permits the cam…calibration ring…and range ring to be used or set independently and more precisely. Easy access locking screws make changes quick and easy.

Other features, which make this the greatest ART model ever, include:

1. Multi-Dial rings that permit this scope to be pre-programmed for up to 4 different zeros or multiple guns.
2. New cam roller that permits easier operation of the ART system. (Interchangeable size rollers for more precise calibration of scope)
3. New mount with built in windage adjustment.
4. Quick focus eyepiece that allows easy multi-shooter use.
5. A No-Math Mil Dot reticle for easier ranging. You can turn this reticle to a true Mil Dot Reticle at 10 X.
